A denial is not a final answer. In Illinois, you can appeal through the Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission (IWCC). However, the appeals process has strict deadlines — often as short as 30 days — so time is critical.

- Read the denial letter carefully. It will explain the reason and your appeal rights.
- Gather your evidence. Medical records, witness statements, incident reports, and photos.
- File a formal appeal with the IWCC before the deadline.
- Get an attorney involved. Workers' comp appeals are technical, and the insurer will have lawyers on their side.
